Meetings Begin to Determine the New Supreme Head of The Nyingma Lineage
During the Nyingma Monlam Chenmo of 2010, several meetings were held in Bodhgaya regarding the appointment of the new Supreme Head of The Nyingma Lineage. The previous head was Kyabje Penor Rinpoche who has now passed into Parinirvana. The meetings were attended by senior Nyingmapa teachers including Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche, Minling Khenchen Rinpoche, Khochhen Rinpoche, Rigo Tulku and other members of the organization.
A committee was formed for the purpose of determining a resolution to the post's vacancy and is headed by Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche, Khochhen Rinpoche, and other senior lamas. Requests to accept the position of Supreme Head of the Nyingma Lineage will be made to the four most senior and revered Nyingma masters according to age seniority. The committee will initiate this important task after the Tibetan New Year and approach Kyabje Chadral Rinpoche first who is the most senior.
